ਅਰਥ: (ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ!) ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ (ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ) ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹੁ। ਹੇ ਜਿੰਦੇ! ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੀ ਰੌ ਵਿਚ, ਆਨੰਦ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਰਿ-ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰ (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਉਤੇ) ਅਟੱਲ ਰਾਜ ਕਰ ॥੧॥ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ (ਮਨ)! (ਹੁਣ) ਤੂੰ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹੁ (ਆ ਜਾ)। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ) ਤੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ, (ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪੈ ਰਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਦੀ) ਬਿਪਤਾ (ਹੁਣ) ਮੁੱਕ ਗਈ ਹੈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ (ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੇ!) ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪ ਪਰਗਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਭਟਕਣਾਂ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਈਆਂ। ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੇ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਵਾਜੇ ਸਦਾ ਵੱਜਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥ (ਹੇ ਜਿੰਦੇ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ, ਤੂੰ ਭੀ (ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੇ) ਪੱਕੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਖਲੋ ਜਾ, ਵੇਖੀਂ, ਹੁਣ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਾਹ ਡੋਲੀਂ। ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਭਾ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਉਜਲਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ॥੩॥ ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਜੀਵ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਮੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀ! ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਅਨੋਖੀ ਖੇਡ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੪॥੨੮॥

हुकमनामा व्याख्या“जिस प्रभु ने हमें संसार में भेजा है, वही हमें अपनी ओर बुलाता भी है”यह पवित्र हुकमनामा हमें एक गहरी आत्मिक सच्चाई समझाता है कि जिस परमात्मा ने हमें इस संसार में भेजा है, वही हर पल हमें अपनी ओर जोड़ने की प्रेरणा भी देता है। इंसान का मन संसार की दौड़, चिंता, मोह और विकारों में भटकता रहता है, लेकिन गुरबाणी हमें याद दिलाती है कि असली शांति केवल प्रभु के चरणों में टिकने से मिलती है।गुरु साहिब फरमाते हैं कि हे मन! तू आनंद और आत्मिक अडोलता के साथ अपने हृदय में प्रभु का नाम बसाए रख। जब इंसान हरि के गुण गाता है, तब उसके अंदर की कमजोरी, डर और काम-क्रोध जैसे विकार धीरे-धीरे समाप्त होने लगते हैं। प्रभु का सिमरन मनुष्य को भीतर से मजबूत बनाता है और उसे आत्मिक जीत प्रदान करता है।मन की भटकन खत्म होने का मार्गहुकमनामा आगे समझाता है कि जिस व्यक्ति पर परमात्मा अपनी कृपा करता है, उसके भीतर स्वयं अपना प्रकाश प्रकट कर देता है। तब उसकी मन की भटकन समाप्त हो जाती है। संसार की दौड़ में इंसान हर जगह सुख खोजता है, लेकिन असली आनंद केवल प्रभु की याद में मिलता है।जब प्रभु की मेहर होती है, तब मन के अंदर ऐसा आनंद उत्पन्न होता है मानो हृदय में हमेशा खुशी के वाजे बज रहे हों। यह आनंद किसी सांसारिक वस्तु से नहीं मिलता, बल्कि गुरु की शरण और नाम सिमरन से प्राप्त होता है।गुरु की शरण में स्थिरतागुरु साहिब हमें प्रेरणा देते हैं कि गुरु के उपदेश पर चलकर अपने जीवन को मजबूत बनाओ। जो व्यक्ति गुरु के आसरे जीवन जीता है, वह परिस्थितियों के सामने कभी नहीं डगमगाता। चाहे संसार में कितनी भी कठिनाइयाँ क्यों न आएँ, उसका विश्वास प्रभु में अटल बना रहता है।ऐसे व्यक्ति की समाज में भी शोभा होती है और प्रभु की हजूरी में भी उसका मुख उज्ज्वल होता है। गुरमत का मार्ग इंसान को केवल बाहरी सफलता नहीं देता, बल्कि आत्मिक सम्मान और शांति भी प्रदान करता है।परमात्मा ही सच्चा सहाराहुकमनामा के अंत में गुरु साहिब बताते हैं कि जिसने जीवों को पैदा किया है, वही उनका सच्चा सहारा भी है। परमात्मा स्वयं ही इंसान को विकारों से बचाता है और सही मार्ग दिखाता है। उसकी बनाई हुई यह सृष्टि और उसकी लीला अद्भुत है।इसलिए मनुष्य को अहंकार छोड़कर प्रभु की रज़ा में रहना चाहिए और हर परिस्थिति में उसका धन्यवाद करना चाहिए। उसकी महिमा और कृपा सदा अटल रहने वाली है।सीखसच्ची शांति केवल प्रभु के नाम में है।गुरु की शरण मन को स्थिर और मजबूत बनाती है।प्रभु की कृपा से मन की भटकन समाप्त होती है।नाम सिमरन से विकारों पर विजय प्राप्त होती है।परमात्मा ही जीवन का सच्चा सहारा है।वाहेगुरु जी का खालसा, वाहेगुरु जी की फतेह।
