ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਜਤਨ ਕਰੈ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਡਹਕਾਵੈ ਓਹੁ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਜਾਨੈ ॥ ਪਾਪ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਮੂਕਰਿ ਪਾਵੈ ਭੇਖ ਕਰੈ ਨਿਰਬਾਨੈ ॥੧॥ ਜਾਨਤ ਦੂਰਿ ਤੁਮਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨੇਰਿ ॥ ਉਤ ਤਾਕੈ ਉਤ ਤੇ ਉਤ ਪੇਖੈ ਆਵੈ ਲੋਭੀ ਫੇਰਿ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਤੁਟੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਮਨ ਭਰਮਾ ਤਬ ਲਗੁ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਇਆਲ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੰਤੁ ਭਗਤੁ ਜਨੁ ਸੋਈ ॥੨॥੫॥੩੬॥
ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਲਾਲਚੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧੋਖਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਵਿਰਕਤਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਪਹਿਰਾਵੇ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਾਪ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਫਿਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਮੁੱਕਰ ਭੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਸਭ ਕੁਝ) ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।੧। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਨੇੜੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਪਰ (ਲਾਲਚੀ ਪਖੰਡੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ (ਵੱਸਦਾ) ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ। ਲਾਲਚੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਲਾਲਚ ਦੇ) ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਉੱਧਰ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉੱਧਰ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਧਰ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਟਿਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ)।ਰਹਾਉ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ ਤਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਲੀ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਇਹ (ਲਾਲਚ ਦੇ ਪੰਜੇ ਤੋਂ) ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-(ਪਹਿਰਾਵਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਗਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣ ਜਾਈਦਾ) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਤ ਹੈ ਭਗਤ ਹੈ।੨।੫।੩੬।

विचारयह शबद मनुष्य को बाहरी दिखावे और धार्मिक पाखंड से सावधान करता है। गुरु साहिब समझाते हैं कि कुछ लोग संसार में दूसरों को धोखा देते हैं, झूठे आडंबरों और धार्मिक वेशभूषा का सहारा लेकर स्वयं को धर्मात्मा दिखाने का प्रयास करते हैं। वे पाप कर्म भी करते हैं और बाद में उनसे मुकर जाते हैं, लेकिन परमात्मा से कुछ भी छिपा नहीं है। वह प्रत्येक जीव के हृदय की अवस्था और उसके वास्तविक कर्मों को भली-भांति जानता है।मनुष्य का सबसे बड़ा भ्रम यह है कि वह परमात्मा को अपने से दूर समझता है, जबकि प्रभु तो हर समय उसके अंग-संग उपस्थित है। माया और लालच में फँसा हुआ व्यक्ति कभी इधर तो कभी उधर भटकता रहता है। उसका मन स्थिर नहीं हो पाता और वह सांसारिक इच्छाओं के पीछे दौड़ते-दौड़ते अपने जीवन का उद्देश्य भूल जाता है।गुरु साहिब बताते हैं कि जब तक मन की माया-जनित भटकन समाप्त नहीं होती, तब तक मनुष्य लालच, मोह और विकारों की कैद से मुक्त नहीं हो सकता। केवल बाहरी पहनावे, धार्मिक चिह्न या दिखावटी कर्म किसी को सच्चा भक्त नहीं बनाते। सच्ची भक्ति तो तब प्राप्त होती है जब प्रभु स्वयं अपनी कृपा दृष्टि करता है और अपने नाम की दात प्रदान करता है।गुरु नानक देव जी फरमाते हैं कि जिस व्यक्ति पर परमात्मा की मेहर होती है, वही वास्तविक अर्थों में संत और भगत कहलाने योग्य बनता है। इसलिए मनुष्य को बाहरी आडंबर छोड़कर अपने मन को शुद्ध करने, नाम सिमरन करने और प्रभु की कृपा प्राप्त करने का प्रयास करना चाहिए। यही जीवन की सच्ची सफलता और आध्यात्मिक उन्नति का मार्ग है।आज का संदेशपरमात्मा को धोखा नहीं दिया जा सकता। बाहरी दिखावा, धार्मिक वेशभूषा और झूठी प्रतिष्ठा किसी को महान नहीं बनाती। सच्चा भक्त वही है जिसका मन प्रभु के नाम में जुड़ा हो और जिस पर परमात्मा की कृपा हो। इसलिए अपने मन को लालच, कपट और भटकन से मुक्त करके प्रभु के नाम का सहारा लेना चाहिए।

God Knows What Lies Hidden WithinGurbaniPeople try to deceive others, but the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, knows everything. They commit sins, and then deny them, while they pretend to be in Nirvaanaa. ||1||They believe that You are far away, but You, O God, are near at hand. Yet true peace remains elusive because worldly desires can never fully satisfy the soul.Guru Sahib teaches that contentment and remembrance of God bring lasting peace, while greed leads only to endless wandering and dissatisfaction.—Doubt: The Greatest Obstacle”As long as the doubts of the mind are not removed, liberation is not found.”Spiritual freedom cannot be achieved while the mind remains trapped in doubt and confusion. Doubt weakens faith, creates inner conflict, and prevents complete surrender to God’s Will.When the mind constantly questions, fears, and hesitates, it remains attached to worldly concerns.
